Hi I an new here , I just wondered if anyone can help me as I have searched the whole internet , I need handbrake cables for my polo c hatchback 1990 (86 80) , mine has a metal plate attached to it , no where stocks it I have found out , it use to be no problem to get 😢

It should be like the top one of these diagrams (the bottom one is pre-1984 cars, so not a candidate). The back cables (19) are identical, Guessing the plate is part 25? in which case the cable is just slipped into the plate. Catch is, it's probably 25 years since it was slipped in there, so might need a bit of persuasion (eg - vice, WD40, molegrips, swearing) to slip back out again.

Any parts place should be able to get the cables.

Do you know which one you need as there is 3 parts to it (and the front is a pig to change!)
