Hatchback Lock is Jammed....

Hi,had this motor a a couple or three years now with typical Polo problems,but this is a new one ,the hatchback lock has actually jamed i mean i put the key in the lock and it wont turn in either direction.

?Has anyone had the same problem,it need sorting cus the wife uses the car for shopping so she cant use the boot for the bags?

Oh nearly forgot to add its a 2001 6n2 Hatch.

    I had this problem in mine, water gets in behind the lock, corrodes the pins/barrel and you get this happen. Try a tonne of GT85/WD40 and a screwdriver gently, dont use your key, youll bend it. Shou

    If that doesnt work, youll have to go in from the boot, get the 2x torx20 screws out, remove the cover and manually release the lock to open it to get the barrel out.

I had this problem in mine, water gets in behind the lock, corrodes the pins/barrel and you get this happen.

Try a tonne of GT85/WD40 and a screwdriver gently, dont use your key, youll bend it.

Should loosen it up enough to open it, then dissect the lock and bath it in wd40 and a wire brush.

Thanks mate i'll take a look tomorrow.
