I had greenstuff on brembomax grooved 239 vented discs. I liked them and the feel - but I got a lot of brake dust.

Don't know whether that's due to the grooves or the compound or enjoying myself too much.

Discs were done for by a worn hub on one side. Actually that might have contributed to dust production

That's interesting as ebc claim they give off less dust so perhaps there was other contributing factors.

I'm umming and ahhing about choice of discs too. I'm wondering if grooved are necessary on vented discs being as one of main reasons for the change of pads was to limit the amount of dust

I'm quite happy With my greenstuff pads, and vented 239 drilled and grooved discs, I'm running steels so I don't notice too much dust if I'm honest.

i know of 2 different people who have cracked the EBC redstuffs and they've actually came away from the backing plates after about 6 months of them being in the car... and they werent exactly being lewis hamilton everywhere, left foot breaking or stamping on them at every opportunity.

yes thats redstuffs and not green, but i think there might be a build quality element to it.

they did both say that they stopped the car well, however.

I did my bready and by tdi sport passat all round ebc green stuff discs and pads and the results on the passat were huge improvements on everything bar life span,

I'm not heavy on my brakes I tend to use the engine to slow as well as the brakes but once the pads were done so were the discs,,,,,

What vehicles did they have the redstuffs fitted to because EBC gave me a big no no when I asked about them. They said they were really only for heavier vehicles or more hp as they take quite a bit of heat before they actually become any good and I wouldn't be able to drive a little car like a pole hard enough to generate enough friction.. (I beg to differ) lol

Yeah sorry VW2 grooved and vented and lupo gti rear disc conversion grooved EBC discs with the wear indicator.

And on the Passat grooved and vented EBC discs all round with green stuff pads....

I was very happy with greenstuff pads on my mk2, I didn't notice a lot of dust.

I found them OK to start with but as they aged the braking performance decreased and yep I found them rather dusty too.

had some years ago , didnt like em at all

I had these on my g40 gave off quite a it of dust and to be honest didn't like them I did have standard discs but breake fade was awful .

They were very sharp when bedding in, wish they stayed that way lol, what other pads do people reccomend?

I have them and think they're shit.

No bite, dusty, work ok when they're warm, fall to shit on track after a couple of laps.
