I have a 6N2 Gti which is fitted with Passat winter wheels.

It also has spacers fitted on the rear, around 6 or 7mm.

I am concerned that the spacers mean that the distance from the wheel nut face to the hub is too large meaning that there are not sufficient threads on the bolts to secure the wheels properly.

Does anyone know if this is likely to be an issue or what the dimensions are for the Passat winter wheels or the original BBS split rim (I have a set which I would like to fit, but are not with the car at the moment)

Posting my own reply, for the benefit of others, now I have had chance to do some measurements:

It looks like the steel wheels with 1/4" spacers have the same depth as the BBS wheels, leaving 11mm of bolt threads to screw into the hub
