Aircon, error 01274 V71 motor - problem or not ?

Featured Replies

I have been getting the aircon working on my black Polo 6N2 GTi.

As part of the diagnostics i followed the Climatronic self diagnostic process which included checking the operation of all the flaps.

I heard a bit of clicking when this test was underway.

Situation now is that the aircon is working (regas and replacement of sensor G65, but I have error 01274 in vagcom.

Having read this useful thread http://www.clubpolo.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=282940 it looks like a major job to get access.

Having redone Basic Settings, when I go into the HVAC module, measuring block 005 shows 59.0 0.0 0.0 0.0

I think the second sector should show 58 or 59.

All the buttons to redirect air seem to work correctly

So, the question is, do I have a phantom fault, or a real one.

If it's a real one, is there anything I can do without a full dash out job

If it's a phantom, how can I get rid once and for all, because it's just going to annoy me knowing there's a fault tucked away in the ECU (no others  )

Thanks for any advice

Here's a list of the block values 6N2 Aircon block values.doc

Have you done the basic setting 04 ? 6N2 aircon Basic setting 04.doc

Then do the final control setting 03

Final control diagnosis 03

Note

Final control diagnosis must be carried out with engine stationary, ignition switched on and Climatronic switched off.

To do this, switch Climatronic off via push button for reducing blower speed.

Note

t For results to be definitive, final control diagnosis must be carried out at an ambient temperature of at least 12° as displayed on control and display panel.

t Climatronic is not regulated during final control diagnosis.

t If necessary, final control diagnosis can be repeated several times.

Select vehicle system → Chapter.

Press 03 Final control diagnosis-arrow- on the display.

The following tests will be carried out:

t Indication of display of operating and display unit for Climatronic air conditioning system -E87-

t Functional test of the 4 control motors.

t Circuit to fresh air blower -V2- is tested.

t Switch sequence of control unit for air conditioning system magnetic coupling -N25- is tested.

t All sensors are checked.

The tests will be completed in about 30 seconds.

Note

After completing final control diagnosis, read fault memory

Thanks Nige

I was busy for a couple of days and have just been out to see what I could do.

The advice worked

I had gone through the basic settings a few times, but had not done the recode 03 and the final control diagnosis 07 through vagcom before, though i think I had done the same thing through the On Board Diagnosis of the Climatronic control unit.

I had to do the process twice before the codes cleared and did not return. I also read the internal memory of the Climatronic unit and got the all clear 444 code

Many thanks :thumbsup::drinks:
