Reliable little thing, does 40 miles a day for me and is great on fuel.

Has had a 1.3 inlet put on it and I think I have a GT cam along with a few other spares that I'll throw in.

Passed its MOT first time last year, just two advisories (a wheel bearing which has been changed and a brake line that hasn't but doesn't leak).

Having said that, there are a few bad points, as below.

  • Faded paintwork - give it a wash (like I haven't) and a polish and it will look miles better.
  • Rust patch to boot area, not structural.
  • Dents throughout and door trim not attached.
  • Loose doorcard to passenger side (clip broken).
  • Coolant leak - confuses me this one, coolant drops over time however the engine still runs at 70 degrees even in this heat.
  • Radio, cig lighter and interior light don't work - just a fuse needed I believe.
  • Exhaust blows, I think reassembling with paste would cure it but haven't bothered to have a look.

Not going to doll this up to be anything more than it is - I just need it gone ASAP to make way for a newer, nicer car.

£300 takes it, if it doesn't sell it'll get scrapped - someone must be interested, surely...
And yes, I'm open to offers (sensible ones).

Sorry guys, I'll get pics up today for you.

Don't hold your breath though, it's £300 for a reason.

Damn that looks awesome. I want it. I'll see how fast I can get £300 together.

Cool, I'm only over the hill from you.

Pick up my Passat tomorrow morning so you can have it whenever you put the cash in my hand.

It is drivable and has an mot, i'm just not insured on it anymore.

Dont be put off by the mention of a coolant leak, its from the o ring on the thermostat housing. I have driven it 40 miles a day for at least 3 months like that with no issues.

Sent you a pm mate also is it currently taxed?

tax cannot be transferred if sold, new rules

Seen the PM, others have asked for images of rust so I will get this when I get chance.

There isn't anything that would be an MOT fail, nothing is structural as far as I know.

At the end of the day though, a £300 car from 1991 is never going to be perfect.

Yes, it does currently have tax on it but only because I haven't bothered to claim it back.

I know about the tax with it being taxed I can drive it home then tax when I get back If I buy the car.

If stopped they'll check who taxed the car

If going to tax it once home, why not do it online when purchasing it? They don't even take the money for 2 weeks if paying monthly

When i bought my passat at the weekend i just taxed it off my phone. The v5c has all the information you need on it.

Sure works that way interested to see the pics of the rust.

Been a busy week work-wise, will try to get them uploaded as soon as I can.

Apologies for the poor phone pictures, I've tried my best to show it everything as described below.

It's nowhere near a show winner, but it does the job and will be another year of cheap motoring for somebody.

Fired it up today, still runs how it ran when posted.

Surface rust under rear right hand side light cluster.

Drivers door trim not attached, it's in the boot.

Lacquer peel to front passenger wing.

Lacquer peel to passenger c pillar. Difficult to see however there is a previously repaired rust patch where it meets the boot.

Self explanatory - never investigated further as it's just a runaround for me.
