Hello all,

I'm new here and new to Polo's although I had a Lupo before and loved it.

I currently drive a 97 Polo Saloon 6k and I was wondering can you get passenger airbags?

If you can are they the same unit as a 6n, where is the wire to connect it up and do I need any other bits?

First Welcome to the forum.

The part numbers are the same as the same year 6N :) however you'll also need the correct control unit and you might need the loom if there isn't the connector behind the glovebox

I did look for the loom connector but couldnt see it any idea where it should be?

Is the loom seperate from the main loom lile most cars because I'm not too handy woth wiring haha.

The connector will be (if it's there) behind the glovebox area it should be a Yellow connector/loom, it is a separate loom but will be strapped to the main loom

I couldn't see ond when I looked last time but I will look again. Will a 6n loom fut and do I need any other parts?

You will also need the control unit for the dual airbags, it should be part number 6N0 909 603AM or 1J0 909 603AC depending on your chassis number, lower than 520 400 the 6N0 part or later the 1J0 number

The loom from the 6N should be a direct fit :)

Although I'm a young lad I do want my passengers to be safe so its the first mod I shall do followed by electric adjustable headlights and wind deflectors.

Going to swap my tarantula alloys for 6n steels so if anyones interested dont be shy
