After taking 11hrs to upgrade to Windows 10, it now will not let me access Elsawin :( it keeps telling me it's an unlicensed version !! and won't let me log in :((

11 hours?! Fairly sure they said 'older machines may take up to an hour'

That is a right pain though. No doubt there'll be a patch that sorts it. Keep reporting the problem and it'll get done.

Just emailed the guy I bought the copy from to see if he knows a work around ??

It might be a case of you can only install it so many times etc. I had that with a guitar program I used to use. Had to restore my computer and then it wouldn't work anymore.

I have mine installed on a virtual machine, so no matter whats going on OS wise, Virtualbox iss still running XP and runs a treat

I've just tried re-installing it but still not working:( I was thinking of trying it on the virtual XP setup, just need to work up the enthusiasm for another 3 hrs of loading it all again !!

Win 10 doesn't support XP mode!! there is a work around, but you have to reinstall XP and the virtual machine every 30 days!!

Luckily I've got my old XP laptop back working with Elsawin just a pain having to copy items/pages etc onto a memory stick and then copying them on this win 10 laptop :(

That's why I have that beast of a laptop I brought to Polo Show - everything works with XP, no matter how weird the hardware, or how bent the version of VW dealer software.

A friend of mine who is an IT expert (he doesn't just claim to be, he does it for a living) says that Windows 7 is the best operating system that Microsoft have ever made and strongly advises against 'upgrading' to 10.

Surely 10 has to be an improvement on 8? Whoever in Microsoft did the Alpha test on 8 and thought it was a good idea must have been smoking something very funky!

Windows 10 is getting many positive review albeit from the privacy concerns. although one thing that does fuck me off is all this stupid app business, don't want nor need it, why do I need control panel and then another app for system settings. Royally fucks me off.

I like it so far. As for the privacy things you can turn them all off, as I have. Same goes for the stupid 'advertising ID' crap.

Yup done all of that, 1st thing I done and I've never made an Microsoft account always local!
