Hi everyone,

New to the forum & looking to buy my first mk3 facelift polo.

Does the forum happen to have a thread with common faults of any of the facelift models or even a servicing schedule? The car I'm looking at has around 77k miles, 5 door & is the 1.4 60bhp model. It would be handy to know what to look out for when going to view the car. As far as I can see from the advert it needs new rear abs sensors. Just so I know if anythings due ie timing belt, clutch. Or if this model had problems ie rust on certain panels, gearbox problems etc.

Thanks in advance :)

Welcome along!

By mk3 facelift I assume you mean 6n? What year is it?

Welcome,

Mk3 facelift would be the 6n2?

A common issue with these is the gearbox, not sure if this includes the 60bhp models but still worth checking. Listen out for odd noises especially when you let off the throttle. As for everything just do the normal checks you would with any car.

Due to the age and mileage it should have had at least 1 timing belt change as 60k is the interval. But I'm sure they say something like every 4 or 6 years as well?

Welcome aboard!

Welcome mate, what ever the Polo you buy at least you know you're in the right place :D
