Hi. I recently brought some second hand alloy wheels to fit on my Polo CL Coupe 1994. Upgraded the wheels from 13" steels to 14" alloys 185/55/14. Anyway, thought I'd try one on today to check the fitment. Took the rear drivers side off and put the alloy on. However there is a bit of a problem. There is about a 10mm gap between the back of the wheel and the hub/drum (I can't push the wheel all the way into place like the original steel). Any ideas what I'd need to sort this? Spacers or something? The wheels are a 4x100 just like the steels. I'm also going to need some longer bolts though I think. Thanks

sounds like the center bore isnt right? is the hole in the middle not big enough to go over the center of the brakes?

I can only assume that it's not. If I let go of the wheel it would just fall off, I couldn't push it on properly. Put a bolt in and there was clearly a gap. Could see the bolt coming through on the other side. Not just going straight into the hole like it should "/

Got a pic of the wheels? Certainly a smaller centre-bore. Most engineers workshops can get a 14in wheel on their lathe and turn the centre bore to the 57.1mm required for a small fee.
