Are the door quarterlight rubber seals available separately or must they be bought bonded with the glass? Got a Mk2 coupe here that weeps on the inside (!) when it rains and it drips down the door cards. I often hand it a tissue and tell it chin up.

So can you get new seals? Or I'm thinking is clear silicone the cheaper way to go

They're not bonded. You have to remove the main window and the window channel to pull the quarter section out. You can then inspect it and find out why it's leaking. These are getting old now and the rubber will shrink/memory/harden/perish over extended time, so thin bead of silicone in there just to make up for that is probably going to be the best answer.

but that would be pretty permanent if you ever wanted it apart again

If you did want to use silicone, you can get it in black, which might look better than clear. (B&Q)

You shouldn't be able to see any silicone on this design anyway. It will only be leaking from within the glass seat channel because of the double-skin nature of the door frame.

Another idea would be to drill a hole in the glass seat, so it can't hold water (and subsequently overflow into the cabin. The water would instead drip down into the door, where it then drains out the bottom to outside.
