Hi guys, I've got standard steel wheels on my polo 6n2 1.4 8v and it just cheap tyres which are on the car.

The car seems to have not too bad handling in the dry and as soon as it rains even the slightest the car will skid round roundabouts at like 10mph and wheel spin when trying to take off it 1st gear. Will this be due to cheap tyres or could it be something more serious?

it always feels as if the back is just not going round the corners in the wet. The ABS light is on for front wheel speed sensor but surely this wouldnt affect it? thanks for any help!

always worth running the best you can afford , its all thats keeping you on the road and might make the differance in an emergency situation

Cheap and tyres are two words that should not be put together. As said it is the only thing holding your car to the road.

Always worth doing research and stay clear of anything with the word 'budget'.

One thing you can do with your current tyres is check the pressures. Maybe running them a little bit lower will help improve grip in the wet.

If you can get hold of the Which? magazine report on tyres, it makes interesting reading.
