polo insurance is there a company that the young drivers use as most companies I've contacted after a years no claims for an 18 year old hasnt gone down in price

From experience, the price comparisons have done quite well. Elephant, Bell, Admiral etc I found to be the cheapest fro many moons ago, but there are so many factors involved.

thanks for replying hes insurance is with admiral and has only dropped by £200 to £2400 when most of hes mates are driving more powerful cars and are paying £800 to £1700 which i find bloody ridiculous as its a 1999 1.0 polo

Try things like adding a girl of similar age onto the policy as a named driver. I did this when I was younger and it always dropped the price more than even adding my parents on.

It could well be the car too. I found I could insure a much newer car with it being more powerful and it got much lower premiums. New cars with better n-cap results etc.
