Just got myself back in the polo game after selling my GTi last year. Some of you might of seen my MK2 Caddy on here which I've been working on for some time. So much so that i want to take it off the road for a bit and as such, have just bought myself a new hack!

I always like to try and go for something a litte bit different so i went for this. Saw it on ebay and got in touch direct. Got a bit of a bargain! I decided i wanted it before id seen it, as my Surname is Dobson, and i figure that numper plate looks close enough to being a private one (DOB), so..... lol.

I've never had a TDI before, and just want this for running around in. Picked it up last week. Drives really well and pulls like a train!

Plans are: Coilovers have been ordered, new wheels decitions are in the making but i might risk going down the 17s route!

Other then the usual, a dam good clean up, fix the broken bumper. Fit a decent stereo. And then SERVICE the crap out of it before its MOT in October! Other then that I'm not really sure, i might look into roof bars and go for that sort of look.

Also I've been reading up on the "Hockey Puck" mod, to help raise the engine as i hear the TDI engines sit low and are prone to Sump smashes.... not fun.

The cars currently at my dads lock up while i get it a bit more ready for the road (Hopefully October) and then ill switch to this and take my caddy off for a bit!

But I plan to just make it really tidy.

Well, the wheel hunt is over. Since starting this a couple hours ago, I've just been and picked up some Azev A's for it! :)

Sounds like this will be an interesting daily ride build

So last night i went and picked up these... Azev As. they are Blue, which I'm not to keen on and plan to spray either silver or white. Maybe black, just not blue.

Heres what they look like on the car (Yes, i know... coilovers are on the way)

Then i decided to crack on with a few little job.

New pressed plates, new Aero wiper blades, clear side repeaters fitted some 20mm rear spacers. debadged the tailgate and gave the inside a good valet with the carpet shampoo machine!Wa

Lower it! (and sort out that stupid camber, dont know why its sitting like that at the front but will be sorted)

Tidy up body work, few little rist paches on wing and rear arch.

Upgrade stereo, and speakers. plus get an amp for that little sub in the back

Roof bars

Maybe wrap the roof black

A big service on the way too!

Got a momo sitting about I'm gonna put on

Clear front indicators. and a black front badge i guess. (all the usual)

And i might paint the wheels, cant decide. Maybe black, or white.

Are you really sure you want roof bars? Mine has and....I really don't see a way to take them off. But if you really want, search for Seat Cordoba Vario roof bars(VW Polo 6KV5 is actually Seat Cordoba Vario).
Your car is actually 6KV5, not 6KV(6KV is the sedan model)

I envy you for having the tailgate handle in one piece Mine is smashed....hopefully, will replace it next month. How did you debadged the tailgate? I'm interested mainly in the tailgate VW logo

Sounds like a good project dude. I have a silver estate aswell. If your looking roof bars thule make a set for the. I've them fitted to mine.

i debadged it by... pulling the old badges off and t-cutting the hell out of it! The middle VW badge had fallen off when i bought the car anyway! lol.

Clears will look well on it cos it's red. Mine came with clears but I changed them to orange to split the silver up abit. Are u on Facebook? If so there's a polo estate owners page

Seat cordoba gti cupra. Ibiza fit them aswell

Just found the facebook page, cheers mate! Won some Thule roof bars on ebay so thats them sorted. Whats that deflector thing on yours? Looks cool!

Got to order my paint next. sort the wing and bumper out. MIGHT paint the wheels, but cant decide.

It's a thule wind deflector. Can't buy them over here have to get them in the states.. but the odd 1 pops up on ebay sometimes.

Wheels would look well silver or Maby a nice grey colour on it

How its sitting now. Did have some spacers on the back, but took them off for now as they were rubbing

She is finally on the road! Passed an MOT today after a re test. Had all new brkae lines and the front wishbones, bushes and drop links changed. Basically all the suspention is brand new now, and the brake pedal is great! Finally get to run it. Pulls well :)

Updates:

Rims off my van on it, just for a change.

Still wrapping the pillers, waiting for a dry day. Got an amp for xmas so the sub is working now.

Pressed plates, aero wipers. Roof bars, not sure what else is new.

Its running sweet! Put a couple Thousand on the clocks now and its not missed a beat!

Ow yeah, and i fit a boost gause in one of the heater vents. Looks cool, but need to fit a switch to turn its light off. its a bit bright!

What are the wheel specs bud?

Umm, Honestly, i cant remember. ATS Cups. 15 inch. They are both the same width but have a staggered offset.
