So i want to convert my vw polo 6n2 1ltr to a 1.6 gti! Now i need a donor car for this and am located in ireland if i get it imported and just want to use it for parts do i still have to pay vrt and all them costs? Or can i just import it put it on a truck and bring it to my house??

I think thats a question you'll have to ask your local Customs & Excise office

wouldnt it make sense to have the parts stripped over here and put on a pallet so theres no imported car to tax?

Yeah but a whole car would probably be cheaper than buying a 1.6 gti 16v engine, loom, gearbox, speed gauge, front drive shaft and ecu?? You know of anywhere to get the parts???

No don't pay vrt! Sure u can bring it in, and write it of I'd say?
