My mk2f fan speed only comes on at no3. 1+2 nothing only at 3 hot or cold and in any position. Any ideas,fixes, or mods

Heater resistor will be either dead or corroded.

Where would it be?

Behind the speed knob or in the depths of the dash?

It's on the side of the heater matrix/fan box, under the flimsy plastic scuttle cover.
