sorry buddy you wont find anything sub-2k. should of looked into this before you bough it :lol:

how old are you?? i am 18 bt got insurance on a 1.4 wen i was 17 with direct line under my mums as me as a named driver..was only £800 4 a year :-D

sorry jus read you are post properly you are 17 right?? ask you are mum if need b beg hehe and go with directline u as additional driver n her as a main driver n see what u get, they offer loads of discounts if sum1 else who lives u insures there car wiv them 2 and if you are house insurance is with them...give em a try cant go wrong reli

Yeh but hes got the 16v, which is a big difference, thats a group 10 insurance right? first time driver, 17 years old, 3k insurance..not worth it, might as well rack up a 1 years ncb on something smaller. Depends if your really willing to fork out at least 2 grand on insurance. Good luck nonetheless!

Keep ringing round insurance companies, make a day of it and play them against each other. Could also opt to pay a higher excess, go TPFT or decrease your yearly mileage.

If you haven't already, give Brentacre a call http://www.brentacre.co.uk/

Liverpool Victoria were quite good for me on my first car...

But nah, like what's been already said, don't expect a miracle. The very cheapest is to be a named driver on someone elses policy.

Tried Norwich Union?

Best price I could find, they centainly "quoted me happy" or however you say it in Indian?

I got insured on a valver when I first passed, was 600 under my mums name with liverpool victoria and bit of a discount (cause she's a nurse)

try admiral, elephant and bell. they're good for young drivers.

If you add your parents to your policy then it will bring it down.

I've got a quote of £1019 from Quinn Direct, I'm 19 with no NCB and I drive a modded GT with all the mods declared.

To put that into perspective all my previous quote had been £2100+

Give them a try Quinn Direct

Or if your cars modded phone them 0800 587 800

hey, i have the same problem, I'm 17, but not passed yet, got my test in oct. i have a 1.4 16v, and i 2 couldnt find anything sub £2000. so i begged my mum and I'm fully comp for £650. type into google 'insurancesupermarket', one search and brings bak like 20 quotes, worked for me! btw what a 1st car 2 have! they fukin rock!

You lot wanna make sure u dont crash into something cos if they find out you've been driving most of the time whilst being just a named driver, which they'll try to prove, they wont pay out anything. Better transfer ownership to you are parents or else it looks a bit dodgy and thats all the insurance companies need
