I have bought a 1993 mk2f Polo for my 14 year old son.

We are fully re building it to show standard and putting it on air.

We were thinking of going for new 15" wheels but they all seem to be around 7 or 8"wide.

Just wondered what people do about the arches if they have slammed the car for the clearance and what arches people are fitting.

Roll, flare, pull, extensions, weld on from different car. Depends how much you want the wheels in there and how much work you want to do

With the right tyres and the right offset you might just get away with 15" x 7" wheels and little to no modification to the arches. That is assuming you have a coupe or saloon?

If you have a breadvan then unless you do major surgery like weld in completely new arches then you are limited to maximum 6" wide wheels on the rear depending on the offset.

You could get wide on the back of a bready. But you'd need to rise about with 4x4 ride height!

My 93 coupe is bagged on 8.5" wide renault alpine gta wheels. One set of camber shims and a bit of arch rolling sees it slightly sitting on the tyre. Bit more pulling before it goes into paint should see arch to lip fitment. Tried 9" wide and they fit well. Just need 185 tyres max really
