I have been searching the net for the past few days and still have no deffinative answer, and yes I have searched every post of the FAQ

A friend has a mk2 which is a 1.0 carb (88 I think)

I have an AEX engine out of an early 6n I just scrapped

Our plan is to fit this engine into that car. From what I have read it should fit right in as far as everything should bolt up.

From what I have read all ancillaries should be swapped I've crank pulley and flywheel etc which isn't a problem.

My problem is with the inlet manifold, it the plastic type and from what I have read it will not fit into the mk2 bay? Is this correct? As it doesn't look any bigger then the AFH one which looks to clear fine from what I have seen.

My other problem is with the feeling. Am I right in thinking we can use GT wiring with the 6n manifold, injectors and throttle body? Or is this not possible and a stupid idea

Or would it just be best to go with a carb setup?

After even more research I have now chosen to give up and go with carbs.

I have a used 5 speed box from a 6n2.

Can somebody please confirm what exactly needs to be changed to fit this?

What I think needs changing are

Anti roll bar ? Or ARB blocks, whatever they are

5 speed gearbox mount

Some say gear linkage but I'm certain they are the same.

As far as the relay mechanism goes I'm thinking the little bolt mount things have to be cut off as I think the lower one will be in the way?

Also, from what I have seen the gear linkage looks a lot like the 6n rod type. Would I be right in saying that a cable mechanism can be used?
