Featured Replies

hi sorry not a question regarding polo but a mk3 golf gl tdi estate 1998 model with abs. Basically i am looking for rear drums with abs ring and not able to find any from places like euro car parts gsf etc. does anyone know where can i source one from as all the drums i am looking at is a non abs. even ebay doesnt have them!

cant speak for that model , but my golf they push onto a standard drum

The parts list only shows one drum but it also only shows the ABS sensor ring for the disc models ???

i think GL TDI models are the only ones that came with drums with abs ring. The part number on the abs drum is 1HO 501 615A and checking on the drums that are for non abs it shows the same part number on them too?

I have 6n 16v drums on my coupe, which are the same as the MK3 Golf 1.8 drums i had on it before - these had the ABS sensor and ring.

For fitment to the MK2 i blanked off the hole for the sensor with a bit of stainless shim (the MK2 axle half covers it, so i couldn't leave the sensor in to plug it).

I probably left the speed ring on the drum, i can't remember, but i expect it'll be sold separately - it just levers off / taps on, because it stretches slightly over the drum's hub. As long as you're careful removing it, you should be able to transfer it onto the new drum.
