Drivers Side Electric Window doesnt work?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have yet come across another problem with my Polo 6n2, in that the Driver's side electric window as Stopped working, though it was working fine and day before. When you click the Switch you can hear something clicking in the door, and have done the swap of switches but still the same. This is very strange, cause it was working fine. Can somebody share some light on this??

PLEASE HELP!!!!!

If you get someone to operate the switch are you able to tease the window down by hand? I'd suggest placing a hand either side and applying some downward force to the window. Not too much though. If it does go down make sure it is able to go back up again before putting it all the way down.

I will give it a go now..

Just tried it, to no avail. What else could it be?

With the great help again from Nige8021, we both found out the problem with the electric window not working (occasionally). Thinking it was the motor being at fault, how wrong were we, we found that the main door loom plug had a couple of broken wires, so repaired these and now have a fully working Window..A HUGE thank you to nige8021 Thank you mate....

Need to arrange another day / time, to do a permanent repair on those wires :)

This happened with mine yesterday! Took off the door card to access the motor, there are 4 little screws holding it in which I released. Give it a wiggle around and it worked.

I would still pull the rubber flexy covering back from the body side and check the wires :)

Yeah I did that first and it was all fine, tbh that's what I thought it would be. It was both passenger and drivers side that weren't working. Just have the issue of trying to replace the bulbs in both sidelights now but don't know how to get them out!

My problem is that the window goes up, then slows down and goes back down again, someone said need new window mechanism? Or trouble with switch?
