Hi there, I'd like to change the stock stereo for the OEM Sat Nav.

Could you let me know what to search for as 'OEM polo sat nav' isn't bringing up any results on eBay.

Also, was the Sat Nav unit used in any other VW models?

I don't know for your dash but I used a Passat sat nav in my 6n2. If yours in double din it will fit.

As with any OE sat nav... It is NOT plug and play, prepare for doing wiring to the ABS and some other parts... Just so you know what your up against!

Anyway here's what it looked like in mine to give you a idea of dash size it needs as I'm not familiar with 9n

That's a nice install. I take it only the MFD1 will work with a 9N Polo? And as for wiring, I thought it was plug and play, with the addition of a GPS antenna? What else needs doing? Thanks.

There is an input from the ABS unit for wheel speed on that model, but as your putting it a 9N that should be picked up via the CAN bus, also seem to recall it needed an additional ignition ON supply

As Nige says above it will need a feed for the switched power.

There are 2 variants of this unit afaik, one has the normal bigger iOS connector and the other has the newer smaller locking connector. The later will fit and work without modification however is rarer.

There are also two versions of sat Nov for the 9n platform one as above has a colour screen, the other has a slightly smaller mono chrome screen. Both where factory fit

Also, on high line versions you can get gauge cluster with a large screen built in (mfd I think) this can be linked to the sat nag if fitted and puts the directions right in front of you. It's a really nice touch but is rare.
