Firstly, apologies for this being my first post. I have owned, restored and modified 9 VAG cars (3 Polo's) and am currently driving a Polo Dune TDI, so perhaps you will all let me off!

After buying the Dune for camping trips in U.K and Europe I've decided to sell my Mk2 Polo Hatchback/Estate/Breadvan.

I have owned this Polo for a year and it has been faultless, returning good fuel economy and excellent reliability. Before myself, my uncle owned the car for 15 years or so and drove it infrequently but lovingly maintained it, no expense spared. It has a Full Service History (mostly VW) with lots of receipts for parts and labour.

Earlier this year I treated the car to an Engine Service

A 60/40 spring and shock kit (with spare 80/60 springs included in the sale in case you wanted to go lower)

New top mounts

A new wheel bearing

A new exhaust clamp

A new bulb

Later in the year I treated it to the retro 13x5.5 100+ Lazer Alloys with 175/50 tyres that you see pictured

Unsurprisingly it flew through its MOT with no advisories. My mechanic said that there is no rot underneath and it's very solid.

Despite being a 1.0 4 speed it's really fun to drive, it handles nicely and is not too low currently. I can even take 3 passengers or load up the back with very little scraping or grounding.

Minor fixes:

The wing mirror glass is cracked. I put a stick on replacement for the M.O.T but it fell off!

Horn push and switch needs replacing. I repaired it but it stopped working again so I was going to replace the steering wheel with a retro chrome and wood ebay jobby for £30 but never got round to it.

The alloys need spigot rings to be centred properly so it currently sits on standard steels ready for the winter, the alloys are in the boot.

There are some minor rust bubbles/spots on the doors and arches, a couple of dings, and the paint is dull, it almost looks like matt white. The interior is clean and serviceable, with a couple of small blemishes. All in all good for a 23 year old car. I like the characterful natural wear/patina it has developed and wouldn't change it for the world, but if you don't, it's an easy bodywork project.

The car will be sold with alloys, standard steels and roof rack for £700

Or just on standard steels for £500

I think is a very fair price for an honest car but I am open to offers upon viewing.

Any closer pics of arch rust and scabs elsewhere, battery tray good? And picture of tank filler neck rot area?

If you zoom in on the images it shows you the size of the rust spots. I will try and take some close ups tonight after work. Never noticed anything in the filler neck or battery tray but I'll double check

Still available. There is no 'rot' on this car just superficial cosmetic rust spots.
