8V or 16V and key issue

Featured Replies

This may be a stupid question for some people but i have a P reg 1.4CL polo and dont know if its an 8V or 16V. How can i tell?

Also its an early 6n as the immobiliser has small connections on it and i need a new key. Do i just need an immobiliser with ignition ring and key or do i need the ecu??

I'm getting my bready MOTd this week, hooray. Baby G60s to go on it when the new Pirellis turn up. Putting 165/60/14s on it so should have no issues

If its just the key that you require, some of these high street key cutting outfits claim to be able to code the key chip for you. - There are also mobile key cutters who can do so - at a price!

If you have the original key, you could 'transplant' the chip to the new key.

Just an update to all, i had my key reprogrammed by North West Keys in Bootle in Liverpool. Had to take the immobiliser and key to them and put the immobiliser back on the car and turned the key, the car started 1st turn of the key.

Excellent service and highly recommend the professional service.

Just thought good service needs reporting and will hopefully help anyone else with these issues
