New(ish) member now with a new toy!

Hi all

I used to have a 1995 6N model a couple of years back, now long gone, but have just re-entered the world of Polo ownership with a 94 Coupe, with MOT and 82000 on the clock - a snip at £395 (I think I got a good deal!). Immaculate interior, and bodywork in great shape.

Wish me luck all!

Nice! Looks nice and tidy.

Any plans so far?

Welcome, looks like a very tidy example for that amount of money

Looks very clean for the money, well done :)

Thanks all, only mods I can anticipate at the moment are some alloys but the OH doesn't agree yet! Any suggestions on alloys anyone? Consider me to be completely new to this - not even sure what spacers needed etc (if any!)

Kwijibo is definitely someone who can help in this area, he helped me out recently :-)

I'm running 14' BBS RA wheels on my breadvan, but with yours being the coupe, it's even easier. The shape of the rear arches in a breadvan really restrict wheel size.

But, to be in keeping with the car, 13' always looks right, but obviously down to personal opinion.

I know what you mean by the OH though, I run in to the same issue a fair bit. But it keeps me in check and stops me ruining the originality of the car (which inhave to admit, I do like to keep).

I would suggest looking at some of the build threads for wheel inspiration. There are a good few sets that suit these cars.

Budget will be your most limiting factor...

The choice of alloys is wide and varied. If you want to keep the car original looking then a set of 13" BBS RAs are a good way to go.

As said though looking through the build threads is probably the best bet to get inspiration.

Keep it clean and put some money into making sure it stays a solid runner, the right wheels will pop up in their own time

Thanks all - I think we'll keep it stock for now, as it is in very clean condition. The OH wants me to remove the 'Boulevard' decals from the rear wings but I've put my foot down on that. So it looks like it's staying stock for now....!

I'd actually side with the oh and do a subtle pinstripe instead
