Hi guys,

I have been on here for a while just never had a polo to talk about! I bought a Mk2f polo breadvan genesis a few weeks ago and it will be a project car for when I can drive. I have lots of plans and ideas. The body work is full of little dents but no surface rust, there is 1 hole in the floor but that is an excuse to buy a welder! Will try and keep this updated as much as I can. Hope to have it ready for the 2017 show season...

Looks like a good base to start with :)

Nothing has happened lately as the garage is being used to bag my dad's t4. I have bought a few parts including, clear indicators, front panel and a omp steering wheel.

With the bread van I have decided to take the engine out, and instead of plasti dipping the car I'm going to go for a full colour change. With lots of smooth bits...

I have a never fitted pattern part rear bumper for a 2f bread van. Bought for my coupe gt and obviously doesn't fit. Boxed and ready to go. £25 collect or a reasonable meet somewhere.

Today we finally got the breadvan in the garage! Spent a few hours stripping some more bits off it and deciding what i'm doing to it. Here is a few pictures..

Haven't updated this in a while.. So since we got it in the garage its become a shell. N glass,doors,wings,engine,suspension,rear axel, petrol tank. Have been sanding away at the body work and got rid of all the seam sealer in the engine bay.. Now going to start welding, have a hole to weld and then all that I want to be smooth. The aim is to have it painted in the next 2 months...

 Thanks!! Standard engine going back in as im only 16 but an engine conversion is on the list for down the line.

Lots of work put into this ... looking forward to updates.

Thanks, yes the garage is great for working on it.

 

Has been a long time since I updated this and alot has happened...

First thing done was to weld up the hole in the drivers foot well. After that the bodywork began. The side van panels were made and tack welded in, a template of the filler cap was made to smooth it off. The boot was then smoothed including the wiper hole, washer hole, badges and the holes for the plastic unit which held the lock. Then the engine bay was smoothed, welding up all unneeded holes. Then the filler came out..

Then I decided to go a step further and started to remove all the seam sealer from the inside.. Followed by filling all the unused holes and removing the dashboard.

That looks a really clean shell, how did you remove the seam sealer?

Just used a drill with a metal wheel on it
