I've been lurking on the forums and have benefited hugely from the information shared on here, I thought the least I could do was sign up and say thanks, also chucked a fiver in the pot!

I have wanted a Mk2 coupe for about 6-7 years and finally got around to picking one up in August this year, since then I've enjoyed using it as my daily runaround. It's a K reg in Steel Blue(?) 1.0L and is in decent condition, or so I thought until we came to change the rear beam after a knock, OS side had rotted almost completely through! All is well now though with the new one fitted and some other bits and bats sorted whilst in the area.

I was intending to make a project out of it whilst still using it day to day, but with my schedule and work commitments that quickly ceased to be an option, so I bought another! Took a gamble on ebay and came out with a bargain, 1.3 Mk2f in Black - the colour I had originally wanted :) even came with a (broken) sunroof. This is going to be my project car, my close friend is studying Mechanical Engineering so he was up for having a tinker, plus he has recently moved into a new house with a serviceable garage so we have the space to do it.

I'll post a thread in the projects area if people are interested, I sort of want to keep a log for myself and share anything I learn along the way.
