Leaking rear light- butyl tape?

Featured Replies

I've got a 2f coupe and my rear light has started leaking.

I've hear butyl tpe around the rubber can help reseal it? Anyone used that before?

Or shall I just run round the rubber with silicone grease?

Personally I'd go with the silicone. At least then you know its done. If you use the tape it might not be as effective as the silicone. My opinion!

I got the light off. The foam seal is looking a little tired. I smeared loads of silicone grease round the seal and it seems water tight - for now.

Is the seal replaceable, or do I have to get a whole new light?

You can get the foam for some cars. Have a look on eBay, or eBay.de
