Passenger door lock not locking/unlocking other doors on Polo 2014 S A/C

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have just become a happy owner of 5 door Polo S A/C 2014.

Only thing that baffles me is that when I use key in the passenger door it only locks/unlocks the passenger door and not the other doors.

The central locking only works from the driver side door lock.

I talked to the dealership and they say this is by design.

I find it hard to believe as all my previous cars had the central locking working on driver as well as passenger side.

I asked the dealer to show me another Polo working like this, but they only had 3 door Polo 2012 model and that worked as I would expect, i.e. central locking worked for both, driver as well as passenger door.

Can please any owner of 5 door Polo S A/C trim from 2014 confirm this behavior.

If this really is how the central locking works on this model, can anybody suggest if there is anything that can be done?

I have searched some of the posts about installing remote control units, but none seems to refer to 2014 model.

Thanks for any answers and suggestions

Jiri

First Welcome to the forum.

I would suspect the body control computer could be reprogrammed to give "all doors lock/unlock" from any door, I would ask the service department not the sales dept as they probably wouldn't know what was possible
