item now sold

as the title suggest i have a brand new aldon amethyst unit for sale. i bought two one for the track car and one for another project but looks like i'll never get the other car up and running anytime soon so no point having this lying around gathering dust.

easy to fit takes about an hour, i can help advise on installation as i've literally installed one last week to my MK2 polo. i used a dizzy off an AEX i had lying around as it was easier than dismantling my vacuum/mechanical advance unit on my original dizzy (which is used to trigger the unit) then connected my vacuum line from manifold to the amethyst and started it up simple as that then plugged into the laptop to fine tune. loads of info available on the net but if anyone wants the spare one brand new unused etc £150 if you want to collect or £155.49 if paid by paypal and ill even ship it for free

forgot to add... you don't need to add a vacuum line, but adding it will take advantage of the 3d mapping and improve fuel economy for sensible driving

Very interested, would this work with a Mk2 vac dizzy just without the vac connected? Or do you need no advance function on the distributor at all?

it will work with the advanced dizzy, you would have to lock the internal mechanism in the fully advanced position which is detailed within the instructions for the amethyst unit. or a simpler way would be to just use a dizzy from an aex/apq engine as there is no internal mech to alter and can be picked up for £15 on ebay or perhaps less on here

Fair enough, as you say it'll be easier to get a 6n dizzy in that case.

Does it come with the instructions and software?

yes its brand new unused in the original box etc, comes with terminal connectors for wiring it up, usb lead to connect to laptop and a usb stick which is where the manual is stored (they don't come with a booklet) and the software is on the stick also
