Glove box door falling off ?

Featured Replies

I fixed this problem by drilling some small holes in the plastic hinge pins. The holes have to be small enough not to weaken the pins but sufficiently deep to take a very small screw which extends the length of the plastic pins. Use self tapping type screws with a round or rose head. I got away with tiny countersunk screws and the glove box lid has never fallen out since.

This is for those who wish to keep things in their glovebox out of sight and the door on. All I have to do now is how to support the back of the glovebox to stop the plastic pin from falling out of the sheet metal hole behind the dash. It doesn't help that the radio is hanging off it. Some hook arrangement that is easier to get to I think will be best because I have a lot of extra wiring there I may need to get to.

Regards

Phil
