Hello everyone - My wife bought a 2005 Polo 1.2S last week to use as a runaround, and I find these member sites brilliant for finding out about these lovely little cars.

This isn't our first Polo. My first ever car was an A-Reg 1.3 Coupe, and absolutely loved it! It got us from Tenby to London once 4-up with a sofa bed tied to the roof - ended up selling for a Mk1 Golf back in 1999, but still have those pangs of regret for getting rid.

Next up was a G-Reg hatchback that was given to us by my mother-in-law. Only had 32k on the clock and was a lovely drive. Unfortunately I ended up driving it into the back of someone, insurance company wrote it off and that was that!

Fast forward 9 years and we have got another one! My wife didn't like driving my 1988 Mk1 Golf in the winter because it fogged up the glass too much, so we've got another Polo! I haven't kept up with the model numbers (my mind has been on Golfs in recent years) but I believe that it is a 9n3 - which is confusing, because wikipedia reckons the facelift model didn't come out until 2006, and mines on a 55 plate. It's headlights are one-piece, which suggests a 9n3 - pics to follow...

It's only a runaround,so won't be doing much to it, but here is my to-do list:

central locking - it has central locking, but the transponder must have fallen out of the key, so need to source a new one

stereo - one inside is looking a bit tired, so I may get a double din Android unit.

parcel shelf- ours is snapped, so will have to fix, or source a new one

height adjustable drivers seat. My wife needs a boost to get a good view

Cambelt - the car has done 68k miles, so probably due. Our Mk4 Golf just dies due to a snapped cambelt, so don't want to make that mistake again!

No doubt I'll be on these forums for some advice on how to get these things done

Anyway, that's enough for now - looking forward to the sticker!

Hello and welcome.

It does sound like a 9n3 you have now :)
