Handbrake light on consantly

Featured Replies

Hey polo people. As above, 1983, 1043cc bready, noticed a while back that the handbrake light was on real faint on the dash. Now it's noticable in daylight. Is it a sign i need to get my hand brake sorted or somethin else entirely? Faulty switch becoming faultier?

Thanks as always for stopping by and for any guidance that you can give. Always very much appreciated.

Sounds like what happened to mine scirocco, there's a small push switch underneath the handbrake itself which when pressed, switches off the light

Ergo, either the switch is knackered/loose or the lever needs adjusting to ensure better contact

Awesome. Thank you Sir. I'll check that out.

Brake fluid level OK ??

Yeah, brake light, the two switches for that are under the handbrake lever and in the brake fluid reservoir cap.

Could be the switche under handbrake cover being stuck as mine was, adjust it and should go off

Cool. Thank you dudes. I've been battling with a head gasket so should have time to sort this now. Thanks again.
