(BIKE CARBED) 16v POLO 6n dying out when revved

Featured Replies

So here's my polo again up here with another problem :(

Okay been a few days since it's happened so far we've cleaned out the carbs and fuel lines seem to be okay (getting a new fuel filter soon) but when I drive it it just seem to choke with no power at all like its stalling out

At idle it's fine runs fine but when you Rev up it builds up but if you keep your foot down it dies out making you take your foot off to stop it from stalling

So it sounds like lack of fuel but I'm not to sure as this is my first car I've gone in depth with such as the engine change

So if anyone of you polo guys can help it would mean a lot

Thanks

was it running ok previously?

could be that your main jets are too big and your firing too much fuel into the engine?

please can give more details, engine? carbs? main jet size and brand?

have you removed the spark plugs and checked if they are sooted up?

EDIT: just searched your posts.. 1.4 16v.....

sure i used 138 main jets on my setup, have you set the initial timing with a timing light?

what size jets he using?

What fuel pump are you using? Mine did similar when I was running bike carbs and then the bike pump cured it.

Different carbs require different size jets, so jet sizes mean nothing unless we know exactly what spec carbs they are.

The flux capacitor could be worn out also
