I've read a lot of mixed opinions covering the legality of this and I myself have also read the legislation surrounding this and as far as I can tell it is legal to tint your headlights yellow.

Can anyone shed any light at all?

Awesome. I think I'm going to keep a copy of the legislation in my car just in case I get stopped. Don't fancy getting harassed by a traffic officer who doesn't know what they are talking about! :)

Exactly! It Is yeah but it doesn't look ratty like that anymore! Changed the bonnet and some other bits! I used to get some funny looks from them! You could tell they were just itching for a reason to pull me over!

I used to run with amber side light bulbs. Car looked normal when off but when the sky got gloomy and i switched the side lights on, the car looked evil, proper moody. It was especially eye-catching because i had one in each of all four twin-headlights.

Then a copper pulled up next to me at a junction and asked "What's with the candles for headlights?" Him and his collegue had a giggle - i laughed and said they were legal, i'd checked, but as it was getting dark i'd put my dipped beams on. They nodded and drove off.

I'll be running them again in a few weeks when i put the white one on the road. They stand out and make other road users look twice, which has gotta be good for safety.

As above, perfectly fine and legal to have yellow. Only white and yellow lights are aloud at the front.

That said,if an officer is having a bad day or just feels like picking on someone they will pull any one, regardless of the colour of the lights.

You can also get yellow bulbs, this means the light emitted is yellow but lenses are still clear. You could run both of course :)
