Hi all, I need a bit of help.

My car is currently away in the bodyshop, and i've got a problem where it was rusty around the crappy dealership sunroof. I've always wanted to have a nice preferably electric fabric sunroof so I was just wondering what people had fitted or if anyone knew of somewhere that supplies and/or fits them? I've seen some pictures of them but i need the measurements and to find one of course!

If someone can measure up their open air roof then that would be really helpful, because thats the obvious solution. I want to keep the beesting aerial but its got to be quite wide due to the damage to the roof.

I was thinking the same when I was doing a mk1 a few years ago. I got a price off a webasto supplier and it wasn't actually that bad.

Yeah a webasto was what i was thinking about, i think i'll have to get the bodyshop to paint it pretty much as it is and then wedge the old one back in until i get it back on the road and MOT'd then i can find a supplier to fit one. I'm happy to pay out, i don't want to have to do it again or to have one that leaks!

6n open air? I'm sure someone on here did it once

Matt01 did a conversion on his 6N2 & I think one of the "Harlekins" also had a retrofit

Polo coupe roof is tiny.

1990s minis were available with electric open-air roof. These cars rusted terribly, especially late '90s ones, and there are plenty of big mini breakers.

Even if you're happy to pay for a new one, an established pattern may make things easier - this size and corresponding components are most likely to still be stocked in the future.

As my dealer fit one was bigger than normal and it had rusted around the edge, i now need one as wide as possible and for it to go back to the beesting. I've printed off the information from webasto so i'll have to measure my other coupe to see if its possible.

otherwise i will have to look at alternatives!

I have a non-sunroof coupe roof.. Comet blue, too..

That was the other option, put a new roof on. Now would be the time to do it and i may have no choice!

Whilst you're at it, give it that hot rod look by chopping the pillars down

My cousin's restoring a BMW 2002tii and he has replaced his roof. He did the reverse of the trend though, and swapped a perfectly good tin top for a factory sliding roof..
