How can i leave it when i cutting the fire wall out to smooth??

take proper pictures of your bay and your vin no clearly and keep it as your proof before you remove it incase you get stopped by traffic police or vosa.esp vosa as they can be strict

you coudl cut it and weld it on to the bulk head, altering of vin plate position or signs of tamper can cause problems if you get stopped by the wrong police officer even if its all above board

Yerh its the 2f! Thats what I'm worried about them thinkibf its chop shopped 😕!

document it as well as you can and be sure to show the car and reg in some of the pics to show its the same car the work is being done on. Sadly though its a risk you have to take to smooth it

one day it may provide the excuse an officer needs to take up a few hours having VOSA come out and inspect it but it may never happen

Could always cut in out neatly then rivet it to the dashboard. Most modern vehicles have it here now anyway.

That said I could be totally wrong, are they stamped into sheet metal? Or is it a separate plate with details on? I'm fairly sure my 2f has it on a separate plate. If this is the case then just drill it of neatly and keep it with the cars paper work.

The other place the VIN number would be is in the spare wheel well so maybe move it to there?

I wouldn't be worried about things like the police etc, only thing that would concern me is MOT time as 9/10 they log it onto the system by reading the vin off the ca (not off the old MOT) and if it's not there they could be funny about it.

lots of cars had the number in the floor pan near the seat , buy a set of ebay stamps and stamp it on a few places

if you get an angry know all copper then you will be in for it , they make up thier own laws and rules so good luck with that on a modded car , make sure your insurance is fully aware of everything , legal lights and tyres not touching etc
