Wipers stuck on when headlights are on! Help

Featured Replies

Hey all, today all of sudden my 6n2 wipers stayed on when I turned the stalk off.

No matter what mode they are in, the speed stays the same, they stay on as long as the headlights are on.

I have disconnect the stalk; doesn't stop it.

Disconnected the headlights; doesn't stop it.

Replaced the multi switch; doesn't fix it

Checked all connections and looms under steering column

Grounded the wiper motor directly (in case of bad ground)

None of this sorted it.

Anyone got any ideas?

All I could think is the relay, or a grounding issue somewhere else? But I will take any ideas right now.

if disconnecting the stalk doesnt stop it I would suggest checking the relay hasnt got stuck in the ON position?

Wild guess, but could water have gotten into somewhere it shouldn't have? My last car, ecu got wet. Relays in there got wet and all sorts of crazy things were happening!

If the relay was stuck on, wouldn't the wipers always be on.

Not when the headlights get turned on
