I need some decent wheels, looking for something 15" not sure what ET or what J to run any advise?

15s will work with small tyres but you'll struggle if they're too wide or too much of an offset, especially with a breadvan.

yeah its a breadvan, i was thinking this when i was looking, hardly any room on the front, trying to find wheels that would fit its so hard and getting stressful, I'm a mechanic but I'm not schooled on wheels i dont really have to think about them sorts of things haha!

It's the rear where your going to find problems, 6j can be done with a thin tire and as close to the original offset as possible but 5.5j works best really and less chance you have to attack your arches

thanks again, 5.5j it is don't want to go rolling arches, I've got work colleagues that can do it but don't fancy it really

Yeah best to leave the arches really as the rear isn't exactly an easy to replace panel, I know you said you want 15's but 13's don't look small with the right height and a low profile tire. Then you have the choice of bbs RA'S, you can get those in 14 inch as well but you will have a hard job finding them.

Only 15s I think I've seen on a breadvan is a one with g60 steel wheels and it does look very nice but I suspect much wider than that will give you problems

I've seen other wheels in 15s on a breadvan, but it just looked weird...

The steelies seem to be the only suitable large wheels (in my opinion of course).

I run 14x6 but I have a narrow and thin tyre. Still get the odd scrap too. Stick to 5.5j and you'll be fine.

will get looking as you say a smaller wheel with a low profile tyre would look good thats what ill do, just glad I've got somewhere to get advise, having a workshop to do the work is so good, got loads done already as its sitting in work now until when I'm happy its all sorted, sealing underneath this week

There are a selection of vw alloys which you could get from mecatechnic.com such as silverstone's and hockenheims

Sounds like a decent plan, you can also get chrome trim rings on mecatechnic so they have a sort of polished lip, looks good on gt steel wheels

MINI, Renault or Vauxhall, really.

I can vouch for BBS RA's. Look nice with my paint.

I quite like the ATS Classics, but they always look better in a larger width, gives them more of a dish. ATS Cups will also look good.

BBS Mahle's and BBS RZ's look sweet too.

Just do yourself a favour and don't ruin the arches. You'll regret it

BBS RA, BBS RZ, VW Le Catellets (rather rare) & VW Estorils, are a few of the standard 15" VW alloys that go well on an older shape VW I think. They all (apart from the Estroils I think) come in smaller sizes too so it might be worth looking into them.

In my opinion 14" is really the biggest wheel you want on a mk2 breadvan for looks and/or a choice of tyre size so they don't give you scrubbing issues.

It's the shape of the rear arches. They don't allow for wide wheels at all.

Are the inner arches flat at the top too? Or just the outside

Also, I found a pic of a bready with some mini wheels, looks pretty nice IMO.

Inner arches? If I am right with what you mean, the bit you can see of the outer arch is the lowest point. Inside of the arches is about 4 or 5 inches higher, so large wheels CAN fit, but you would need stiff suspension if the rolling radius goes too high. Like I say, I run 14x6 wheels with a narrow tread and small wall. Rolling radius is about the same as the standard 13x4.5 wheels I had, but I still get the odd squeak thanks to them being so wide :( (and the fact I am running stock suspension).
