Some people's opinion of the police. For example I am a "member" on a pretty large car group based around Birmingham because I went to a meet once, every single day is someone being pulled for somet

Since this is in the club house I'm going to try and keep my rants off the topic of cars. Lots of things grind my gears though, I'm quite a grumpy old man at the ripe old age of 28. Facebook - Face

  • Driving with front fogs on when it's not foggy!! I live and work a bit out in the sticks so there are very very few street lights so are blinding!

People that bully their way in to your lane in front of you and then say thanks with a flash of the hazards.

Me on a regular basis: "No, d**khead, I didn't let you go..."

People who spell tyres as tires.

I do both

I get mixed up all the time

breaks for brakes

what is it mongs coming on forums and facebook asking for the most simplest help , where can i buy polo fuses , basic bits n bobs ,okay some of the bits are getting hard now but ffs try ebay , ecp , gsf and the dealer and you will most likely find it

why doesnt my headlight work... check the fuse !

People who straddle lanes on multi lane roads and then travel below the speed limit, completely blocking everyone behind.

People who go on Facebook or whatever and say "my car won't start, any ideas?"

Then without even trying to ask any other basic details people come on and go "check your carb, bla bla bla"

Turns out the person asking actually has a 6n...

Also while I'm here, still there are people out there that think an SPI unit is a carb. Just proves you have done zero research before asking your question!

my mk2 headlights dont work

check the relays

I would say the one for the week is people with breadvan's actually grinding the lip off the rear arches to fit bigger wheels. Before checking that the lip can be folded or if the wheels can be machined down a bit they attack the single place which will cause the most hassle and most expense to put right.

Its not even just that really, Its when everyone on the internet will say to these chaps. That's stupid, why didn't you just get a body shop to do it or fold the lips? . They argue it instead of admitting their own wrong doing. They even go to the point of saying its the same as rolling arches.

No its not, and it will rust. And now nobody will buy that car unless you try to hide it and the buyer is a complete moron. If you don't find a moron. It will be scrapped.

It's these people that then want a fortune for their hacked up cars. They then also try and convince a group of over 6,000 members, probably 95% of which own a Polo of that era that their car is rare and a future classic....yeah, OK.

£200 car + £150 alloys + £150 lowering kit = £1500 right?

That seems to be the maths that is being applied to some of the mk2 and 2f Polos for sale just now.

(Some random) Hello, my name is Bob. Can someone tell me what this Polo is and what it is worth please?

(me) Hi Bob, That is a mk2 Polo bla bla bla and from what I can see and the information I've got online about its MOT etc. I'd say it is worth £xxx

(Some random) Oh well in that case I think I'll just keep the car then.

(me) Why have you just bought it?

(Some random) Yes just picked it up today and I was thinking it was worth £xyzxyz and I'm looking for a quick sale.

This really gets to me! haha.

overly stretched tyres! And "it's alright just run 60psi m9"

Why is everyone saying m9? What does it even mean lol

I've just assumed I'm now too old to understand slang. But I have a feeling it's similar to 'm8' because actually spelling 'mate' is too complicated.

Yeah your probably right. Although saying m9 together in any possible way doesn't make a word, it could be for best mates in the sense that 9 > 8. So better than a m8. Thats just retarded though

There you go there's my grinding gears post this week, I can't stand when people say "m9"

Hahaha, yeah I think it's like a pissing taking way of calling someone mate.

For example:

You're a fucking retard m9

Selling a 4 foot fish tank on Gumtree with a 40 quid beast of a filter, aeration pump, CO2 valve and cylinder, loads of ornaments, food, all the medicines and treatments and gravel etc and it's up for 40 quid.

Somebody said can they pay 35 and get it tomorrow so I said yes (baring in mind I wanted a quick sale and could easily sell the set up £100+) and then she said actually can you do 25 because it doesn't come with the stand!

I said that's not a stand it's a sideboard I paid £100 for and it's part of our furniture. Do you want the f*****g wardrobe and chest of drawers too??? Try getting a 1 foot tank for 25 with nothing included you absolute div!

She's is not the only one. Some guy said oh I've realised that one of the bulbs has gone. Nah your alright it's not worth it. Its a 4 FOOT BLOODY AQUARIUM!!! with about 250 quids worth of extras you cheap b*****d.

Got to admit, I do slip and use that expression myself. I blame ford for calling it CFI (carb fuel injection) back in the day.

I referred to it as a carb since the 106 says even though it's an spi unit, misses dad still says it and when I correct him he hates it lol

get more satisfaction smashing it up with a hammer than selling to scuzzers

Considering doing that steve but the misses says no lol and I'm whipped. I might give it to someone in the family. I've told her to take down the ad now because I would rather take it to the tip than some scumbag take it.

It's the middle of January and people have zero money. They are probably expecting you to be the same.

Things for sale all over Facebook are loads cheaper than they were before Christmas, Polos are a good example.

But you're also seeing people selling just utter rubbish for a few quid. Like a Halfords bucket for £2.

Yeah I can't believe she was even trying it on tbf. It was up at that price so that it could go the next day and not have it taking up space, tanks that size second hand in crap condition are close to 100 without anything included lol

Its almost like putting my bluemotion up for £1000 and then getting haggled and asking if I can also include the breadvan [emoji23]
