Some people's opinion of the police. For example I am a "member" on a pretty large car group based around Birmingham because I went to a meet once, every single day is someone being pulled for somet

Since this is in the club house I'm going to try and keep my rants off the topic of cars. Lots of things grind my gears though, I'm quite a grumpy old man at the ripe old age of 28. Facebook - Face

  • Driving with front fogs on when it's not foggy!! I live and work a bit out in the sticks so there are very very few street lights so are blinding!

People who go on Facebook or whatever and say "my car won't start, any ideas?"

Then without even trying to ask any other basic details people come on and go "check your carb, bla bla bla"

Turns out the person asking actually has a 6n...

Also while I'm here, still there are people out there that think an SPI unit is a carb. Just proves you have done zero research before asking your question!

Got to admit, I do slip and use that expression myself. I blame ford for calling it CFI (carb fuel injection) back in the day.

I know a lot of older guys (not that I'm including you in that) just refer to any throttle body as a carb. I'm ok with that as usually they get the terminology correct for everything else.

But it's these young kids which have access to the whole internet yet they are somehow convinced their SPI is a carb and it is in no way fuel injection at all in the slightest!

Being blocked by little judases at go karting [emoji38]

Just went with a bunch of mates and one of the Scottish fellas who was consistently the slowest looked over his shoulder every time I went to lap him and steered out in front to block me. Also some idiot kept spinning out and blocking people and we got red lights meaning we had to stop or yellow lights so at a walking pace.

I'm really competitive and I know I'm the bloody fastest out of them then got judased on my two best laps by a couple mates who were stopping me getting a good lap for a laugh

Still got second place so won a tenner too on a bet we all did for 1st 2nd 3rd

If you're good really you'd be able to pass them! haha

Also any info on fish tank? or has it gone yet lol

I did after a turn or two lol bit had to take a wide line which made my times a bit slower lol going again Sunday and doing it grand prix style with qualifying [emoji23] the placing was also order of fastest laps and despite me having the fastest average I lost by .03 of a second [emoji20]

Misses called the girl and sold it and she paid 35. Was a bit annoyed as she did it behind my back when I left to Portsmouth because I said she's not having it and I will take it to the tip instead [emoji38]

what grinds my gears today is stupid dopey dog walkers with no f###ing common sense. Today i walked my staffy at the park, not running about but on the leach then some dopey woman seen my dog and decided that her dog doesn't need a leach on, within the space of 30 secs her dog comes running up to my dog who aint really friendly with other dogs (hence why his on the leach). Shouted at her saying my dog aint friendly and can you get your dog asap. her reply was my dog is fine with all dogs and yours need a mussel. Argued without losing my temper saying my dog is on the leach and he doesn't need one and his not running about. Her reply was its still a devil dog.

yeah as someone thats not keen on dogs its pretty scary when youre out for a stroll and dogs come running up to you off the leach , worse if you have a little kid with you

this is why when ever i see a dog in a distance i quickly put mine on the leach and same with people/kids walking in the park i still put mine on the leach its common sense as people might be scared of dogs. I just get pissed off when dog owners let there dog running free even if they seen you with your dog

Peoples driving.

When people sit in the middle lane when the inside lane is clear, WHY !!!

People who drive with fog lights on when it's not foggy

People who sit in a 60 doing 47, then remain at 47 through a village that's a 30

"Throttle positionists" people who sit on the motorway holding a certain throttle position, so when they go up a hill they slow down. When they go down hill they speed up - so constantly fluctuating speed

People who you catch up, pull out to overtake, then they speed up

About sums up my drive home from work today

I hate all of those things you mentioned. I try and get very good mpg sometimes in the bluemotion and sit at a sensible 75, if someone is going slow I'll overtake and go back in the left lane. But occasionally they look over and see that I'm overtaking and speed up.. I'm on cruise control too so I'll have to slow down and re engage it when I find the right speed again or kill mpg by putting my foot down and getting in front in a super slow diesel!

Reference dogs it's a weird one eh! Like you may know you dog. And that it wouldn't harm anyone or another dog, so you could feel it's fine - but then a person who is scared of dogs having a dog bounding towards them may be quite an ordeal.

I have two dogs who are nutters and very soft, but are big and maybe very intimidating running up to you and could be scary haha

People who sit in a 60 doing 47, then remain at 47 through a village that's a 30

This...so much this!!

I've had people perform dodgy overtakes and illegal undertakes on me in 30 zones because I'm a firm believer that in a 30 you do 30. But when I go flying past the same people in a 60 zone as they are doing 45 and I'm not, I'm the dangerous one.....

Also this is no word of a lie, I have witnessed someone doing 40 in a 60, they then entered a clearly marked 30 zone and all I saw was the back end of their car squat as they accelerated through it.

It's also that time of year again when 4x4 drivers annoy me. It seems every single one of them thinks that when there is snow and ice on the road, because they have 4 wheel drive it gives them the right to drive at 90mph everywhere and leave just a 1 inch gap from the car in front. I just want to drag every one of them out their car and explain to them that no matter how many driven wheels you have, if you don't have grip then you're just as useless as the little FWD shopping trolley in front of you.

If they're sat on your arse just brake test them, they'll either plow into you which is their fault or shit themselves and back off lol

If they're sat on your arse just brake test them, they'll either plow into you which is their fault or shit themselves and back off lol

I do that Harris! Under my number plate it says if you can read this slow down fool! Nothing like a good bold brake test! ROFL

Probably isn't really legal to dive on the brakes but yeah

I used to do it, but I don't like to now really. Firstly because if I'm driving the GT or the M3 I've got too much money in them to just teach someone a lesson. Secondly all these 'crash for cash' things you hear about, I'd hate to be accused of doing that.

What I do try and do it is avoid using the brakes if I'm slowing down for a junction for as long as I can, then as the junction gets closer, on with the indicator and brake lights, slow down to a crawling pace and then turn in slowly.

I don't actually brake I just put the lights on

I have done the slam on brakes before a few times in anger. Not in these cars though...that would just screw me up completely lol but in the cheap gap cars I've had. In London though you get used to it and tend to adapt so it doesn't bother you. When there are thousands and thousands on the road you always get retards or dickheads multiple times on a daily basis

This reminds of a while back, and another gripe I have:

Driving along, road widens to pretty much 4 lanes, but is still only a two lane contraflow.

Guy behind me, right on my backside, decides to overtake in an extremely dangerous manner just as we're getting to a crossing island as the road narrows again. Then gives me the finger. Cheeky, arrogant b****rd.

Then he gets right up the backside of the car that was previously in front, making them so nervous they pull over to let him past.

This sort of real arrogance on the road doesn't happen that often, but when it does, I find it extremely hard not to get riled up.

I'll tell you a story what happened to me the other week! Soo... I pull out of my road and there are two bmws one over takes me on a single lane town road then his mate in the other bmw is still behind me. So the bmw in front now slams his brakes on and his mate is up my Arse so I'm basically Cramed in between these 2 bmws so I gave the bmw in front of me a idiot sign! So he pulls over lol gets out. I've obv shit myself because I'm on my own then 2 blokes out of each bmw and try and come over to my car. So I've drop up this grass reversed and wheel spin on the grass and drove of rapidly as I've shit myself because there's 4 blokes aged say 30 wanting me now lol. I got away in my lil 1.2 polo against there 1.8 bmw 3 series lol. Later that day I'm going to sainsburys to get petrol and I see them lol all they do is give me a dirty look haha! I think they were gutted because I got away in my turbo polo haha 1.2 LOL

W***er sign*

I have driven in a few countries, but mainly have only Europe and the UAE to compare with, however it's mad,

Iv often driven thousands of miles around Europe which generally is good, in terms of motorways and stuff anywho, if someone is overtaking and see you wanting to overtake them generally popping your indicator on when behind them they'll pull in and let you go, just nice and courteous, but literally as soon as you get off a ferry or channel tunnel or whatever back into the UK all havoc breaks loose, 1600km or so back from Spain, and the last ~200 in the uk are always the most tiring and difficult haha.

Although Romania was next level crazy for driving, people do not care there at all! Was in a big line of cars going down a "country" road so only one lane of traffic either way, next minute a huge artic Lorry in front of us just pulls out to overtake, into a blind bend, just forcing cars the opposite way pretty much off the road. Just madness!

But then again the UAE makes the UKs driving look great, although it could just be a scale thing, more cars, bigger roads, more idiots perhaps, but that's carnage and the coming back to the UK seems nice haha.

Just gotta be on your toes, you don't know what other people will do if you upset them so best to remain calm and avoid pulling over and being punched or whatever!

Doctors/the nhs

Once you get past the receptionist. Yes, it is an emergency, no I'm not going to tell you all about it unless you show me your medical degree, if not, please assume I'm the most qualified person in this conversation.

So I've got pain in my right hand side.

No doctor, I don't think it is stomach acid, but if my stomach is over there, I have got a problem.

No doctor, I don't think it is appendicitis, did you not notice the scar when you examined me, I haven't funking got one?

What do I think it is? Tell you what, go have a round of golf and leave your blank referrals letter and prescription pad here. I'll sort it out.

....

Think you need a scan, if you don't get a letter back from the hospital in 4 weeks, come here.

I used to do it, but I don't like to now really. Firstly because if I'm driving the GT or the M3 I've got too much money in them to just teach someone a lesson. Secondly all these 'crash for cash' things you hear about, I'd hate to be accused of doing that.

I do find as you get older, you give less of a shit about people being twats on the road - you want to drive into it, carry on, it cost £700 and my insurer will have me in a hire car at your expense tomorrow.

Although if I'm being tailgated, I am a big fan of backing off for a while, knocking it down a cog and leaving them in a big cloud of soot.

People without manners grind my gears.

Why can't we all be nice to one another?

Even if you don't particularly like someone it's at least decent to be courteous when required.

Drivers who drive too slow and hesitate too often and on the opposite end of the spectrum, drivers who drive like total hooligans with no regard to other road users.

What about a happy and controlled medium?

We can all have a fun moment when the time and conditions are right and we've no chance of upsetting others.
