I hate to start a topic that has been asked so many times before but anyway

I started wiring up my new headunit and I've connected brown to black (earth) and red to yellow (constant 12v) and I learned that blue and grey does nothing but all that's working is the cd ejection, nothing else is switching on even with the engine on!

(By the way that joining of wires is only ten part while I sort this out)

What do I do now? Is there a way of making it work without an ignition wire so it is just always on? What is the easiest way of getting/making an ignition wire?

join the ign wire to the red..it will always be on then

Sorry what I mean is how would I get an ign wire? As in I don't have one stock

either join both the ign and always live from the head unit to the live you already found- the unit will work all the time regardless of the key

or root about under the dash for a suitable ign live and splice into that

So I've had the headunit wired in and working for a while now but I've decided that today I'm going to try and get an ignition wire so it turns on/off with the key.

I just tested the cigarette lighter but unfortunately that's a constant 12v. Does anyone one know an easily accessible ignition wire that I can splice into? Thanks

The supply (Black/Yellow ? wire) to the heater fan switch should be an ignition ON supply :)
