New Crusty.

Featured Replies

Hello there everyone

I've just joined after a bit of cyber difficulty (probably due to my own incompetence).

I've been the owner of a red 2013 GTI for a couple of weeks now, and am impressed with it.

I was looking for a feisty small automatic and the Polo came to the top of the list. Despite a long car owning history, and many vehicle types from Citroen 2cv to Jaguar XK, this is the first VW I've owned, and the first I've driven since the 70's. It seems to be solid, and well put together, and I'm looking forward to enjoying it when driving in the Warwickshire back roads over the next few years.

I probably won't modify it in any way, but who knows??!

welcome aboard! i can't really comment on the newer polos but i have a 2002 passat tdi with 168k on the clock that's going strong and a 1986 mk2 polo breadvan (with a relatively modern polo engine) going even stronger  not that they compare in any way shape or form! but still.. welcome and happy new year! :drinks:

Thanks Daz.. Those details re. your cars are very encouraging - good on 'em. Mind you, if my car is still going strong after 30 years, it'll probably be without me - I'll be on a mobility scooter by then, at best! :D

Happy New Year.
