hi, mk2f polo original speedo has oil and coolant light lit (is constant on / remains lit) and does not turn off. when I put replacement speedo to test, coolant and oil light on replacement speedo does not even come on when i turn the ignition on. any ideas? cheers

Strange that they don't illuminate with the other clocks unless the bulbs are faulty

Are you definitley not losing any oil or coolant? Mine were both lit and it was such small amounts I barely noticed, when I replaced a couple gaskets etc they turned off after starting up again

Is the replacement speedo you're trying from the same age of mk2f?

All your connections to the coolant temp sender and oil pressure switches ok?

yes same age polo, connections all seems okay.

The wiring for oil pressure circuit changed at some point during late 1993 iirc. Does your engine have one or two oil pressure switches?
