I was held up on the M11 in Essex today - this was the reason.

Metal posts to the right just past were all flattened in the direction of travel for about 100 meters, the restraining barrier wasnt to be seen!!

bit of T cut needed.

Anyone know what the damaged car is / was?

I think you could be right. slight humps on the roof and no rear intakes (most supercars seem to have).

It made a real mess aof the barrier - the posts were literally flattened from north to south for quite a way.

The sun was in our eyes so the image was not great.

I'm just going by the bulges in the roof and the shape of the rear quarter. But doesn't the 458 usually have little rear quarter windows too?

Anyway looks like the passenger compartment survived enough for the driver and probably now his ex-girlfriend to walk away.

Lower door line resembles 458 as does the rear quarter but as Steve said the 458 has a small rear bit of glass but is sunken into the body a bit and looks like a vent the way the body partially covers it

I was gonna go down the lines of a Porsche Cayman but I don't remember then having the roof bulges so I don't think it is

It's driving me mad now...I know what you mean cayman as in the rear quarter but it would need the side vent and the mirrors are quite different too.

It is definitley a 458. Just checked online for the spyder version with a hardtop and it doesn't have rear quarter glass, if you zoom on the picture you can see where the roof line is at the front and it would appear these have double bubble roofs due to the way the rear hood is shaped

Those images just go to show how strong modern cars can be. The cabin looks relatively in tact and 'un-fucked'.
