Will 17" 8j rims fit my polo 9n at standard height?

How much would I be able to lower it after?

Depends on the offset of the wheels as well.

What is the size of the current wheels you have on?

The other issue is the tyre size. The smallest size I can find that would be usable is a 205/40/17 but even then the profile is a little on the big side. You don't want to go any smaller on the section as tyre stretch is now an MOT failure and I can't see anywhere selling a 205 section with a lower profile than 40.

they are 17s 8j with 205 40 17 they fit fine if you rool your arches
