Tyre Stretch

Featured Replies

Just purchased a pair of XXR 527s and was wondering if 195/50-60/15 is to small to put on them. They are 8.25j ?

Don't know why I looked at 16's really bare with haha

That's a manufacturers guideline, obviously that's probably zero stretch really, some idiots put 165/45's on 8.5's which in my opinion is absolute utter stupidity... Have a look on tyre stretch and pick something which looks sensible

My 195/45/14s were barely stretched imo so for my you'd be grand. Anything over 50 profile would look crap tho.

Had a set of these for all of 2 days. But they had 195/45/16 on and they look smart. Nice profile size and a nice bit of stretch to help with fitment. Easy to find that tyre size too. Also, normal tyre shop won't have any trouble fitting. Like Mccann said. Anything over a 50/55 profile will look weird.

I'll upload a picture for you if i can figure out how haha

Also, thought id mention you will not fit them under your arches without a minimum of a 195/45 tbh

Obviously different brands will stretch differently.

Changed from Conti's to Michelins on my BMW, both 255/35/18 but the Michelins are about 20mm wider
