To flush my door pins on my 6n2. Do I need to just cut down the plastic pin or the actual metal rod?

If it's just the plastic pin, how much should I cut it by?

If you cut the plastic pin it won't screw into the metal no more and wobble around. Also if you cut the metal the amount you need to take off will also mean you can't screw them back in.

You will need to do one or the other then re thread the appropriate part like I did

If you cut the plastic pin, you'll need a tap of the correct size to re-thread it, if you cut the metal rod, you'll need a die of the correct size to re-thread that :)

As Nigel said, it's the screw "threads" you can see when you've removed it, whichever one you shorten will loose it's screw threads so you will need to make your own using a "tap and die" set
