So, thought it best to give the ole girl her own post.

Purchased from a fellow member a couple of weeks ago. Found the advert and after a couple of calls me and a mate made the 2 1/2 trip to go pick her up.

Car came with loads of history and at first things looked great. However things quickly turned sour.

To start, one of the adapters the guy had on the front nearside refused to budge! So in the pouring rain, out come the grinder.

Once that was off, money was exchanged and off we went.

Drive home was perfect, car run really well and had a lot more poke than i was expecting.

However, 5 minutes from home. DISASTER! I lost ALL boost! Was like driving a tractor.

Got home to find the intercooler clamp had "popped" off somehow. So new clamp and everything's happy again. But during this i saw the pipe was getting eaten by the rad bracket. So out come the grinder and clear the metal out the way so cleared the pipe.

Then came the rear brakes that were shot! New cylinders and shoes were in order. However on both sides the current cylinder was seized in. So much so i had to change the whole hub on one side with the hub off my old saloon.

Rounded to poo by someone previous!

So two weeks in and nothing but problems.

However everything is good now and here she stands now!

New stereo has been put in. Need to get some decent speakers in and do a small custom build in the boot at some point.

Heko wind delfectors are always a smart touch i beleive so on they went.

New wheel my loving girlfriend got me for christmas. Ebay special, but her face lit up when see saw i put it on. So brownie points for me!

New plates as the old ones were dyer!

Next i had to get rid of the ghastly wheels! Didn't have a lot of money left over after buying the car. But the current wheels came up 20 minutes away for £150 straight and true with 4 decent tyres. So i did a buy got some spigots and on they went.

Then lastly came a full detail of the paint that was covered in tar and all sorts of other crap! So out come the polisher and other than the peppered stone chips on the front, came out okay.

And thats about it for the time being.

Hours work and cleaned the bay a bit as it was filthy!

Plans for the nearer future is the too mainly, clean up the bay a bit, perhaps a could other bits like some bigger injectors and fuel pump along with a full pump.

New stainless front to back and perhaps get a couple of bits resprayed.

The cat approved!

Niiice. Finally, I'm not the only one with an estate. At least, in your case, things are moving a bit. What's next?

Nice car, many years back I had a red one on y plate 110bhp tdi.

Small updates, first off, its booked in for a full turbo back powerflow in a couple weeks (straight through )

Got on some 25mm spacers to make the fitment a bit better. Wheels aren't the best, but will be something i'll upgrade for the next show season no doubt and i'll run these for this year and through the summer.

Other than that, a full speaker upgrade was needed so on that went, really nice sound for a relative inexpensive setup!! Was well chuffed.

Last up was the front brakes. Done the rears now the fronts.

New EBC discs and mintex pads went on (had to drill the holding screw on the both discs which was annoying) but will get round to re tapping then later.

Freshened up the calipers with some grey paint too.

Lastly, couple of rolling shots on route to UD.

I have just got myself a really ratty red sdi estate. Unlike yours, its been really badly neglected & battered over the years & I've got a lot to do to get it even basically presentable. It's great to see a really nice car like yours to remind me just what can be achieved.

clappedout - it's normal for these to be used a work horses so they tend to be abused. Lucky this one has only had two owners so is pretty good. Stones chips are peppered on the front. But its done 130k so to be expected. My saloon was the same, found a decent one in the rough. Was like a new car!
