"Alt. speed dis." in MFD on a 6R?

Featured Replies

I like to have the current speed displayed digitally in the instrument cluster, and I'd hoped to be able to arrange that on my '13 GTI.

According to the manual, the MFD choices display can include "Alt. speed dis.", but this doesn't appear on my list, so I'd be very interested to know if anyone with a 6R (and particularly a GTI 1.4) has this option. I understand that not all functions are available on all models, but I'd have thought that the 'top-of-the-range' GTI would have more than most.

I wonder if I should try the "Factory Settings" option, but I'm worried that it would mess up what I have already? :-(

Any tips would be much appreciated - thanks.

I may be wide of the mark here, but I am sort of guessing that 'ALT speed dis' refers to ALTERING MPH to KPH and Miles into KM's - as I say, this is only a guess.

Regards.

Thanks for taking the trouble to reply Caretaker, but I believe that the 'Alt. speed dis.' stands for 'alternative speed display', meaning a digital display in addition to the standard speedo.

But thanks anyway - it's just frustrating that I haven't got access to it. :x
